Douglas PreK-8 Magnet School Competition
Douglas PreK-8 Magnet School Competition
The main objective of the competition was to explore the possibilities of 21st Century Learning. Our final design solution for this competition embraced cutting edge ideas about education, safety, health, food and energy to create the most beneficial learning environment possible. Passive technologies include wind turbines, transpired solar air collectors, evaporative cooling towers, and photovoltaic panels. We also used advanced daylighting and mechanical modeling to optimize the school for minimal energy consumption while promoting learning and health.
