Staunton Historic Cabins
Staunton Historic Cabins
Historic Structures Assessment:
Alan Ford Architects completed full structural analysis of existing structures with recommendations for stabilization. Developed programs for reuse of existing structures, along with recommendations for stabilization, and preservation for possible future uses. AFA analyzed mechanical, electrical, and plumbing components of existing structure. AFA also analyzed the architectural components of each structure, and identified historic elements to be preserved. For this historic structure assessment AFA developed cost estimates for the preservation / rehabilitation recommendations for each cabin based on anticipated use. Based on the information gathered, it was used to apply for a State Historical Fund Grant in 2014.
Restoration for Seven Historic Structures:
Colorado Parks and Wildlife was awarded a Preservation Planning grant for developing design and construction documents for the preservation and rehabilitation for the seven historic structures within Staunton State Park. Based on Alan Ford Architects Historical Structure Assessment, 100% construction documents have been completed for all seven structures. Currently, Staunton Cabin has been partially restored and Colorado Parks and Wildlife is awaiting funds to complete the Stauton Cabin and the remaining historic structures. Restoration includes: architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and site improvements all complying with Secretary of Interior Standards for Historic Structures.
