The school is on a long-term land lease with Colorado Heights University, however due to other developments in the area the school is losing its only field area and is need of a new soccer field for the students. Due to the location, and lease, the school is landlocked and has nowhere to put this needed field on site, thus DPS acquired land from a private land holder across the Dartmouth Ave from the school building. The field will be accessible from the school and parking by a mid-block crossing along Dartmouth and accessible sidewalk. A spectator seating area of concrete will be provided, there is an additional accessible area of crusher fines for spectator seating intended for activity space for spectators.
